Trip on Thanksgiving

Russ and I always seem to have unusual Thanksgivings. This year we took a trip to the hospital. I now know that I have been having small contractions for awhile now but I thought it was just normal tightening in my tummy. Well...thanksgiving morning that got really hard and for a long time. I called the expert over..MOM and she helped me confirm what was going on. She laid there with me for moral support for a little over an hour and then she left and 20 minutes later we were on our way to the hospital. It was a scary but good experience. Reality is hitting that we are really having a baby..I'm going to go through labor.. and we are finally going to move into a different season of life. The nurse watched the contractions on a monitor and checked my cervix. Basically the diagnosis and treatment for these contractions---SLOW DOWN. This will be a hard thing for me since my whole life i have ran from one thing to another but our precious baby is worth the sacrifice. So we didn't take a trip to cedar like planned but continued our tradition of unusual Thanksgivings.

I am very grateful for such advance neonatal units we have especially here in st. george!

Picnic in November!

Isnt it awesome that on November 4th we were able to take champ out for a picnic in 80 degree weather! Yes, that is why I love St. George!

Girls Trip to Vegas

I know I am a little late on posting but in October the girls took a trip to vegas to the Time out for Women Women Conference. We had sooo much fun! We all decided we should have a six pack by the end of the trip because we laughed so hard. Mom is a character. We met Linda Eyre and her daughter Shawni Eyre Pothier! They have been inspiring moms for years. Dont you remember all the Joy school songs? Well they are the founders. We sang our own version of one of the joy school songs. It went like this:  Dont push, Dont kick, Dont say stupid...this was sung way off tune but we sure loved it! Thanks mom for getting us together!

Support

This week has been a whirlwind of emotions of highs and lots of lows. The ups and downs have reminded me of why I love Dixie. SUPPORT! Man, St. George has such a rich history behind it. It was founded by our ancestors that pulled together as a community to help each other survive those rough times in life. There is still a spirit here in Dixie of great service and support throughout our community.  I feel so grateful for so many different groups that support me in all my endeavors. My neighbors, I have wonderful neighbors who are always willing to help. I feel like I'm still a newlywed learning the ropes and they are always there to teach me new tricks and recipes to feed my small family on a budget. I am grateful for my treatment team helping me continue staying healthy and making sure our precious baby is healthy.  Support groups that encourage me to keep fighting when life feels too overwhelming. Family, our roots are deep here in Dixie. I feel so blessed to be a part of the Dixie legacy. My family has been such an incredible support. I know everyone thinks they have the best family in the world But....I really do. I couldn't ask for anything more. Thanks to all who have given me so many reasons to be grateful to live here in Dixie.

Gratitude in Dixie

Wow, I think I said I would never have a blog and look at me. I do have to confess that it is an assignment from my E-commerce class. I have been working on this blog for hours trying to get the layout to work..hence the big picture of me. So, MrsRobinSunhine, I hope I can live up to the name. This blog was set up to write about what and why I love Dixie! I am excited to share the things I am grateful for as well as the ups and downs of my life. Life's ups and downs...that is what I am going to be grateful for today!
